Are you looking for ideas for things your kids and your mom can do together? Here are five hobbies your mom and children can enjoy together.
Create a Splatter Paint Masterpiece
Splatter paint is a fun outdoor activity that children love. Instead of trying to paint people or objects, spread large sheets of paper or canvas on the ground and dip a paint brush in paint. Stand over the paper and shake the paintbrush at the paper or canvas. You want the paint to splatter in droplets and streaks. Keep going with different paint colors to create abstract pieces of art.
Get in the Kitchen and Bake
If your mom likes to cook, baking is a great hobby for your mom and your children to enjoy together. Children learn fractions and measurements during the process. At the end, there’s a treat everyone can enjoy together. Cookies, cupcakes, and loaves of bread are all foods your mom and kids can make together.
Make Garden Stepping Stones
If your mom wants a lasting reminder of her time with your kids, garden stepping stones are ideal. You’ll need some cement mix to start. This is a step you’ll probably have to help with. You’ll also need a mold to shape the stepping stone. Line the mold with plastic wrap for easy removal when the cement sets.
Your mom and children can decorate with sea glass, glass beads, and stones. Use plastic knives to write words or draw pictures in the cement. After it’s set and removed from the mold, your kids can paint on it too.
Paint T-Shirts
Blank t-shirts are a great canvas for your mom and children. Buy fabric paints and let them create t-shirts together. Craft stores sell a variety of fabric paints and even have paints that puff up when ironed. If your mom likes to sew and is willing to teach your child, you can also buy beads or crystals for additional decorative touches.
Put Together a Scrapbook
Buy an empty scrapbook and let your mom and children create an album of their time spent together. Photographs are a great way to preserve these cherished memories. Your child can draw pictures, too, for your mom to always have as a reminder.
When you’re at work and your children are at school, an elderly care provider can step in and make sure your mom is happy and healthy. Elderly care services make it possible for your mom to age at home safely by helping with housework, handling transportation, and cooking meals. Be sure to call to discuss the benefits of elderly care at home.
